Welcome to San Diego
When we arrived on Wednesday (preview night) of the con, we stopped by the Tin Fish across from the convention center for a bit of lunch. For our dining pleasure, we were treated to the site of a 5'2", D-E cupped, 60+ year old hooker "refreshing" herself over the intermittent fountains in front of the restaurant. Further proving to you youngsters out there that you should never drink water from a public fountain. I did this with a brush pen, but a more accurate representation could be achieved by making a sculpture comprised of Slim Jims.

A Group Sketchbook Too?

Well with about six months of prep time, we managed to assemble a group sketchbook for the San Diego Comic Con in about 2 days! The good folks at RapidPod quickly assembled it and it is en route as we speak! This will be exclusive to the San Diego Comic Con next week, a supplies are limited.
The book: An InCONvienient Booth -or- How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Con (see if you can find the secret 3rd title on the book!) features art by Tom Bryski, Joe Feliciano, Bill Halliar, Melly Curphy, Felipe Smith (also his cover) and myself.

Come by table E-6 and get some! It's the table with about 43 artists crammed behind an eight foot table (we were screwed out of our second table).
Don't forget to pick up a copy or three of Gorilla Salad (see below) and I'll have some prints available as well.

My Sketchbook Proof is Here!!

And it looks awesome!!
The actual sketchbook will be softcover and if all goes well it will be here in a few short days.
If we ever get approved for our table at the San Diego Comic Con it will be available there as well as some nifty prints n' stuff.
For those who can't attend or if we get screwed out of our table the books will hopefully be available for sale online as soon as next week! Aren't you lucky?

Cereal Killers!
I've done a few interpretations of cereal characters before. So when 1313 Magazine http://www.1313midnitekreepshow.com/welcome.html was looking for artists to do pinups for their coffee table book, "Cereal Killers"; well heck yeah I was interested!

The Lucky below is a two-fer. I did the first (please don't sue) version for the book. The second (on model) version is for me. And probably for the folks at Calabash.

I also did a Sugar Bear, which I wasn't sure about finishing after seeing Bob Risetto's fabulous version: http://bobrissetto.blogspot.com/. But I went ahead and did it anyway, so hopefully someone out there likes it. Blood or no blood? Which do you prefer?

Things That Should Not Be
Was the theme of last night's Sketchbook Chicago gathering.
If you weren't there, why the heck not?
The great Bill Halliar came up with a bunch of words and phrases which were drawn like straws.
We would then all draw a creature based on the 3-6 randomly selected pieces of paper.
Creatures like:
Skinny. Protruding Shoulder Blades. Flies by a sack on it's back filled with gas.

Furry. Has gills. Dreadlocks. Whip-like antenae. Bug-like wings. Woman's moaning lips.

Nerf. Maggoty flesh. Covered in runes. Spiked tail. Loves Ham.
